No, I haven't seen it yet, and I won't. Spielberg is a great director. War of the Worlds is a great book with a great history. Dakota Fanning may be as good a child actress as there has ever been. But Tom Cruise.... This has nothing to do with the Katie Holmes thing. Tom Cruise is an obnoxious, arrogant moron, and as of this morning, I've had enough of him.

You've got it... top to bottom. War of The Worlds as a book... yep. Spielberg, yep. Dakota Fanning, yep... although I will qualify that with the fact that she IS, hands down, the greatest child actress ever.
But Tom Cruise? Ha ha... did anybody see him get into a fight with Matt Lauer the other day? Talking about all the research he has done on psychiatry and drugs like Ritalin... and telling Lauer he had no idea what he was talking about. Of course, he provided NO facts or information at all, just the statement that he has done all the research and the rest of us are idiots.
He's quickly turning into the Michael Jackson of Hollywood.

@Bob: That interview is exactly what put me over the edge. That patronizing smugness, combined with the utter lack of willingness to back his opinion with even a single fact. Pathetic.

When I first read the interview, I was certain it was a parody; nobody can possibly be that big of an arrogant ass. Now I realize I was mistaken.
