The server upgrade went smoothly -- as expected. The only hitch was that backups took longer than I had hoped, due to the fact that the backups of my daughters' PC were running simultaneously. And as of now, they're still running, so it looks like I'm missing my target of getting it upgraded to Win XP this weekind.

Actually, there is one more hitch. ND7's CPU improvements are certainly going to be a boon for my underpowered server. It's a seven year old desktop that has been running as my home office server for five years. With no more than three Notes client users, modest web traffic, plus email and spam, it has been doing just fine even though it doesn't have enough physical memory. The box is maxed out at 384 MB, and it was already swapping running 6.5. Domino 7 is taking more memory right from the get-go, which doesn't surprise me, but it does mean that I'm probably going to have to upgrade to a box that has more memory fairly soon.

I'll do Notes client upgrades this week, but I'm not sure exactly when. I also have to get Chris' enhanced mail rules loaded, and an upgrade of this blog to a more current version of blogsphere is also long overdue.

"I also have to get Chris' enhanced mail rules loaded"
