In my earlier post about AD309, I mused a bit about whether the InboxCleanup agent was really an agent. It is. I confirmed that with Tarcio Souza after the session. It's an agent, and the source is there to be read and modified
The implication: in Domino 8, there must be support in the Domino object model for getting at unread marks. Otherwise this agent would not be able to act only on read messages.
This one programmability feature is going to be really, really useful for lots of things! It's huge. I can't wait to get the details!

Oh yeah. This is great news. Thanks for the pointer!

Thanks for the news! I immediately checked the code in the agent and there are indeed to new methods in the NotesView class: GetAllUnreadEntries and GetAllReadEntries.

If you can't wait until ND8, head over to the Sandbox. There you will find sample code with C-APi calls in LotusScript that do the trick also for R5++. I'm sure when debugging DWA you might be able to surface that API too.
